§ 11.08. Amendment of Petitions

An initiative, referendum, or recall petition certified insufficient for lack of the required number of valid signatures or due to inadequate form or content may be amended once if the Petitioner files a notice of intention to amend it with the City Secretary within five (5) days after receiving the copy of the certificate and files a supplementary petition upon additional papers within ten (10) days after receiving the copy of such certificate. Amendment in the form of a supplementary petition must be signed and filed as provided for in the original petition. The same procedures established for an original petition shall then be followed by the City Secretary and City Council. The findings of the insufficiency of a petition shall not prejudice the filing of a new petition for the same purpose.
